Yuri's Night Los Angeles

World Space Party

Closing of the OBSERVE show and my installation "The Past is Present"
Thursday January 15th , 6 - 8pm
at the Alyce de Roulet Williamson Gallery at Art Center College of Design
---------------------

"The Past is Present" is an interactive installation dealing with how time and space are interrelated. If you have not already seen it (or the sound was not working when you went) this will be its closing party. I was one of five artists commisioned for the show entitled OBSERVE to create a new piece based upon the ideas associated with NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope (its much like the Hubble Telescope, but sees infrared light instead of visible light). The show closes January 18th.

Opening of the show "Data + Art" that I am co-curating
Saturday January 24th, 7 - 9pm
at the Pasadena Museum of California Art
---------------------

In 2009 more data will be collected than in the cumulative history of humanity. My buddy David Delgado and I are curating this show about the incredible amount of data that is being produced and how artists and scientists are dealing with it. The museum is beautiful and there are a lot of very cool pieces. If you cannot make it to the opening it will be ongoing until April 25th.
